Scott is the author of Sector Detector on the Sabrient blog and also manages the Select Opportunity Portfolio -- a long/short model portfolio and alert service for active traders.

At Sabrient, Scott leads the sales, marketing, and business development. He also is active in product development, supports the firm's clients in their portfolio management efforts, and produces or edits much of the published content. He is an experienced trader of stocks, options, and ETFs.  Scott's background includes management, consulting, sales, engineering, planning & analysis, stock & options trading, writing and speaking, including many years in the oil & gas industry. He has authored numerous articles and has written a weekly column for a leading trading advisory newsletter.

Scott holds BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona, and an MBA from California State University-Hayward.
